In 2016, Sheboygan County Planning & Conservation, with its partner Glacierland Resource Conservation and Development, Inc., was successful in obtaining funding for a part-time Aquatic Invasive Species Specialist. This individual is primarily responsible for educating the public on the importance of limiting aquatic invasive species migration, planning programs to combat the spread, and preventing infestations.
Water is our most important resource. Aquatic invasive species threaten native habitats and our most precious resource. A listing of aquatic invasive species found in Wisconsin can be found by clicking here.
If you see a non-native species on a Sheboygan County waterbody that has not previously been identified, please do not hesitate to contact Mackinzi Beaty at 920-946-5921.
